Partnership with Oklahoma State University

Medical Directorship: Since 2016, 12&12, Inc. has been partnering with Oklahoma State University’s Department of Psychiatry in a strategic alliance to provide better client outcomes through integrated treatment. This partnership provides its Medical Directorship, a required element of CARF and ODMHSAS credentialing to provide several service levels, including Medically Supervised Detoxification and Co-occurring Intensive Residential services, as well as insurance census billing capabilities. Medical Directorship provides its ability to diagnose, prescribe and dispense medications, provide RN and LPN licensures supervision within the treatment environment, and implement standing-order medical protocols.

In addition, the Medical Directorship includes supervision of OSU psychiatric residents, providing care for clients with co-occurring mental health disorders, while simultaneously completing their education. Thus, in alignment with evidence-based practices, 12&12, Inc. is simultaneously treating co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders to dramatically increase its clients’ likelihood for recovery.

OSU Outpatient Addiction Medicine Clinic: In partnership with 12&12, Inc., the Oklahoma State University (OSU) Center for Health Sciences – Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences opened the OSU Outpatient Addiction Medicine Clinic in a renovated space on the first floor of the east side of 12&12’s facility on August 7, 2018. The Clinic jointly provides medical and clinical treatment; thereby, enabling proper credentialed support for effective use of Medically Assisted Treatment protocols to treat opiate addiction such as Suboxone. Previously, 12&12 was credentialed to only provide clinical outpatient treatment, so opening the Clinic enhances and expands its continuum of care for clients.

Partnership with the City of Tulsa

Tulsa Sobering Center: On May 30, 2018, in collaboration with the Tulsa Police Department, 12&12, Inc. began operating the Tulsa Sobering Center (TSC) a jail diversion program designed to offer an alternative for adult men and women detained for public intoxication. Intoxicated adults are held at TSC for 10 hours after they are brought in by Tulsa police officers. Community benefits from operation of TSC include: freeing up valuable police time, decreasing municipal courts’ caseload and jail intake, and helping adults with substance use disorders. Adults brought to TSC receive treatment education materials, and the option to directly engage in 12&12’s continuum of treatment services. From May 30, 2018 through October 31, 2018, TSC served 277 participants. After completing their time at TSC, 35 participants (13%) accessed detox or treatmenr services at 12&12.
